Hidden Hoard Treasure Hunt Rules

1. Eligibility

• Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Ticket Purchase: Only individuals who have purchased a valid ticket are eligible to participate in the treasure hunt.

• Team Participation: Participants can join as individuals or in teams. If participating as a team, ensure that all members are registered and have purchased a ticket.

2. General Conduct

• Fair Play: All participants must act with integrity and fairness. Cheating, collusion, or tampering with clues or QR codes is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

• Respect for Public Spaces: Participants must respect public and private property. Do not damage or deface any locations, landmarks, or objects during the hunt.

• Safety First: Always prioritize safety. Do not take unnecessary risks, such as crossing unsafe areas or ignoring traffic signals. Follow all local laws and regulations.

• Respect for Others: Be courteous to other participants, event staff, and the general public. Do not obstruct or interfere with others during the hunt.

3. Clue Handling

• Do Not Tamper with Clues: QR codes, clues, or any event materials must not be removed, damaged, or tampered with. Participants found doing so will be disqualified.

• Clue Sharing: Clues and answers should not be shared with non-participants or on social media during the event. Participants should work independently or within their registered teams.

• Lost Clues: If a clue or QR code is missing or damaged, contact event staff immediately for assistance. Do not attempt to replace or recreate any event materials.

4. Use of Technology

• Smartphone Requirement: Participants will need a smartphone with internet access to scan QR codes, access the website, and submit answers.

• Location Services: Some clues may require the use of location services (GPS) to confirm your presence at specific locations. Ensure your device’s GPS is enabled.

• No Unauthorized Devices: Do not use drones, motorized vehicles, or other devices to gain an unfair advantage. Walking or using public transport is permitted.

5. Prize Eligibility

• First Three to Finish Win:

  • The first three participants or teams to successfully unlock the final code and reach the final location will win the prizes.

  • 1st Prize: £500

  • 2nd Prize: £250

  • 3rd Prize: £100

• Claiming the Prize: Prizes will be awarded based on the order in which participants or teams unlock the final code. Winners must present themselves at the designated prize collection point after completing the hunt.

• One Prize Per Participant/Team: Each participant or team is eligible to win one prize. If a participant/team finishes in the top three, they can only claim the highest available prize.

6. Disqualification

• Grounds for Disqualification: Participants may be disqualified for:

  • Cheating, tampering with clues, or using unauthorized methods to complete the hunt.

  • Violating any of the rules or engaging in unsafe or inappropriate behavior.

  • Sharing clues, answers, or solutions with non-participants during the event.

7. Event Cancellation or Modification

• Weather and Safety: The event may be canceled or postponed due to severe weather or other safety concerns. Participants will be notified as soon as possible.

• Modifications: The event organizers reserve the right to modify the rules, clues, or event structure at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants immediately.

8. Liability

• Personal Responsibility: Participants assume all risks associated with the treasure hunt. The event organizers are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur during the event.

• Insurance: Participants are encouraged to have personal insurance coverage for any accidents or incidents that may occur.

• Event Day Support: If you encounter any issues during the hunt, such as missing clues or technical problems, contact event staff via the provided support number or live chat on the website.

10. Agreement to Rules

• Participation Implies Agreement: By participating in the Hidden Hoard Treasure Hunt, you agree to abide by all the rules and guidelines outlined above. Failure to comply may result in disqualification or forfeiture of any prizes.
